Pirbadet

The name translates literally to 'the pier bath'. It is a big glass building kind of in the shape of a big wave right on the edge of Trondheimsfjord. Inside there is a water park with:

Warm pools with a view of the fjord...

A huge lap pool...

A circular current pool...

A 100 meter long winding slide with a two story drop (too big to get in one picture) and another little straight slide on the right....

And also a wave pool, high dives, a steam bath, saunas, fitness rooms etc. It's fun, a great place to go on a rainy November evening, and also, like most things in Norway, rather expensive. The irony is that in Vermont we lived right across the road from 'Triple Buckets', a fantastic natural swimming hole that is as much if not more fun to play in, at least in the summer. But we often wouldn't go down there because it was 'too crowded', and now here we are in Trondheim driving through the city and paying good money to join the throngs at a wholly artificial (but always warm) swimming hole.
